Scottsdale is localed East of Phoenix. It’s known for its spa resorts and golf courses, including TPC Scottsdale. Farther north, trails wind through McDowell Sonoran Preserve, a desertscape of hills, rock formations and cacti. Nearby is Taliesin West, architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s former home and studio. Downtown’s Old Town Scottsdale has 1920s buildings and 19th-century olive trees.  Scottsdale is known as “The World’s Finest Golf Destination,” and it’s easy to see why when you consider the city’s roster of luxury resorts, 330 days of annual sunshine and high-caliber courses like TPC Scottsdale, Troon North and Grayhawk. Along with having the highest number of luxury and destination spas in the country, Scottsdale’s growing number of upscale restaurants and nightclubs, trendy galleries, and luxury shopping has made the city a popular vacation destination for the young, white-collar crowd. Old Town Scottsdale is the downtown area/main area and is open year-round, to blue skies, to cooperative temperatures and to a calendar of events you won’t find just anywhere. Sure, some are western-themed like rodeos and parades and native American festivals, but many events showcase Old Town’s contemporary edge, too.
